The Story Shack is building a community of women writers energized by the clarity and conviction in the second half of their lives. Members write creatively and non-judgmentally in community, hold each other accountable for writing goals, and share the writer's journey through prompts and reflection on writing itself. Big changes are often afloat in our 40s, 50s, and beyond such as a career pivot, shifting relationships with family and friends, and a deep desire to give back through a legacy project that benefits from supportive feedback. It's a last gasp moment to break free of fears and traumas, create things and put them out in the world, speak out on what matters, and live expansively in communities on our earth. No matter what you do in your day job, if you've ever wanted to write memoir, fiction, travel writing, essay, or another creative genre, this community welcomes you. The idea is to expand beyond familiar horizons and grow with supportive, whip-smart word artists. Recovering academics and current faculty branching beyond specialized writing are most welcome!
